It’s seed saving time of year! Our California native plant seed swap is coming this November 3rd, from 11-2pm at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center. Collect your seeds now and swap them with our community later.  November is also good time for hardwood cuttings for many species. Cuttings will also be welcome. Sacramento Valley CNPS chapter members will be available to answer questions about seed harvest and propagation. Hedgerow Farms and Find Out Farms will also be bringing their horticultural expertise. Seed envelopes will be provided but feel free to bring your own containers.   If you have seeds to share please brings them but if you don’t there will be plenty of seed for everyone. Should be a fun event.

*Label seeds– Common name, Scientific name, date collected, source (e.g. unknown, SacValley CNPS Nursery, Placer County), propagation info and images would be an added bonus!
*Cuttings: Cuttings will ideally be collected the morning of the swap, kept cool, moist, and labeled.
*Seeds are for home gardening. Please leave wild places wild by not messing with their genetics
