- Leaves are usually oval and smooth or serrated
- Flowers are white and produced in clusters at the ends of stems
- Flowers have scent similar to orange blossoms
- Fruit is a hard capsule about ½ inch long with woody, pointed wings
- Limit summer irrigation to 3 times per month when established
- Prefers well drained soils
