Pacific Sunset Flannelbush

  • A cross between classic F. californicum and F. mexicanum
  • Large, robust plant reported to reach 2 to 3 feet tall, and grows in a wide vase shape for a width of 1.5 to 2 feet
  • Has large, fuzzy, 3? yellow flowers that have an orange- red blush
  • Blooms in spring, and off bloom is an interesting evergreen texture in the water wise garden
  • Does well on slopes, favors sandy, rocky, exceptionally well-drained soil, and dry conditions
  • Drought tolerant and needs no supplemental water in summer once established
