Summary
As CNPS supporters we understand the importance of native plants and the wildlife that depends on them. As a birder and naturalist in the Sacramento area for 3 decades, Cliff Hawley has observed many of the specialized relationships between native plants and the birds that depend on them. Cliff talks about his experiences in the field and how the habitat created by native plants influences his birding.
Speaker Bio
Cliff Hawley grew up on a small ranch in Lincoln, CA and discovered a love of birds at 14 when he found a male Vermilion Flycatcher in his yard. He has been birding for over 30 years. He graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Biological Sciences and he is a certified California Naturalist. Cliff is currently an eBird reviewer for Sacramento County and the Vice President of the Central Valley Bird Club.
