Meet at Gristmill Park for a walk westward towards Larchmont Community Park but turning around well before Larchmont Park. This is one of the shadier walks along the parkway. The walk will be about 2.5 miles, almost all level and 1/2 of the walk will be in shade.

What to bring: water, hat, snack, and warm or cold weather protection. Sturdy shoes are recommended and a walking stick might be helpful in one short area. Binoculars will be useful for bird sightings.
Amenities on-site: There are rest facilities at the parking area but none along the walk.

***We try to start walking promptly at start time.
– Travel east on Highway 50 to Bradshaw Rd. exit 18
– North on Bradshaw Rd. Be in center lane at Folsom Blvd & Light Rail traffic light.
– Continue on Bradshaw then left at Allegheny Dr. (2 block)
– Then turn right onto Stonehaven Dr.
– Then turn left at Mira Del Rio Dr.
– Just after 9521 Mira Del Rio Dr. on your right you will see the Gristmill sign.
– The access road to Gristmill Park is on your right.
– Drive up this ramp. Slow down going downhill as there is a quick road drop-off.
– Continue on this rutty road to the Gristmill Parking area where we will meet.
– Be sure to display your County Parking Pass or pay the $7 parking fee at the parking area.
– There are rest facilities at the parking area.
– Self-register your vehicle ($7)
– or display your Park Pass.
The Parking is $7 unless you have a Sacramento County Parks Pass.
$70 Parks Passport supports your County Parks system. If you are over 65 there is also a special $35 Senior Pass. More Pass information is on-line.
